"Assassination" could have been changed to a better title, due to the immensity of the event. Something like "The Death of an Eagle" could have highlighted the importance to Lincoln's death more. "War is all Hell" is a great name for the segment because it highlights Sherman's belief that total war is the only way to truly end a war. "I want to see Richmond" was another good subtitle because it portrays Grant's goal to drive the Union army into the heart of the Confederacy. The episode captures the Souths slow demise as they lead up to the events at the Appomattox Court House.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"54183212","dateCreated":"1337122621","smartDate":"May 15, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"hippm29","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/hippm29","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/civilwar2012.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/54183212"},"dateDigested":1532390124,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Episode 7: Most Hallowed Ground","description":"This episode did not have a clear theme, however it did throw around some interesting ideas about the war. The subtitle "Nathan Bedford Forrest" could have been changed to something that grabbed the viewers attention more, particularly something about the KKK. But the episode did a great job highlighting his military genius, so the subtitle could have been called the "The General and his Horse" or something to apprehend his skills with calvary. I found a youtube vid about NBF, a tribute to his military expertise. The username of the person who made the video is HeritageNotHateProd, which I thought was interesting since we discussed that in class. http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=A9WphKnW2O0&feature=related<\/a> . The subtitle "Most Hallowed Ground" was interesting to me also because for both armies, confederate and union, the ground has a lot of importance to them.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"54175234","dateCreated":"1337108782","smartDate":"May 15, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"hippm29","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/hippm29","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/civilwar2012.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/54175234"},"dateDigested":1532390125,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Episode 6: Valley of the Shadow of Death","description":"What I liked about this episode was the quick comparison of the two army's generals, Grant and Lee. It does a nice job to give perspective on each sides mindset, and why these battles unfold the way they do. Opening the fighting with the subtitle "In the Wilderness" is too obvious of a title for what unfolds, similar to the previous episode about Gettysburg. The subtitle, "Now, Fix Me", was creative about the telling of field hospitals and the horror that surrounded them. It was fitting to end the episode talking about the carnage of injuries because the main essence of the episode was to describe the mass losses of soldiers each army endured in less than 30 days.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"54174886","dateCreated":"1337108216","smartDate":"May 15, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"hippm29","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/hippm29","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/civilwar2012.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/54174886"},"dateDigested":1532390125,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Episode 5: The Universe of Battle","description":"This episode does a nice job explaining the transition from the Southern Offensive to the Northern Offensive. "The Universe of Battle" can help the viewer understand the possibilities of war, and how one worn move can send a battle in any direction. The Gettysburg subtitles, "Day One, Day Two, and Day Three" should change because they do not hint or educate the reader on the battles.
